An integrated, low-profile mounting interface for pistol optics

A precision-machined interface for direct optic mounting

A-CUT® is a precisely machined opening in the pistol slide that allows direct mounting of Aimpoint® COA® sight without adapter plates. This integrated system ensures a low, stable, and repeatable zero for unmatched performance.

Unmatched stability and speed

Unlike traditional mounts, the A-CUT design avoids the sheering effect that faces many interfaces today. A wedge-locking mechanism transfers lateral forces into the dovetail, reducing load on screws and mounting interfaces. This results in high durability and reliable zero retention under demanding conditions. Because the sight sits exceptionally low, A-CUT enables co-witnessing with factory iron sights, supporting fast, instinctive target acquisition and a more natural shooting experience.

How to mount an Aimpoint® COA® sight on a pistol with A-CUT®

  1. Position the COA sight
Place the COA optic into the A-CUT interface on the slide. The interface secures the optic and prevents movement.
  2. Secure the COA sight
Use the supplied screws and torque them to the recommended specification.
  3. Verify alignment
Confirm that the sight is seated correctly and co-witnesses with the iron sights. The pistol is now ready to be zeroed.

Zero your COA

How to zero your COA® sight

  1. Set up your target
Place a target at your preferred zeroing distance, commonly 25 yards for pistols.
  2. Fire a group
Fire a three to five round group to observe point of impact relative to point of aim.
  3. Adjust the sight
Use the elevation and windage adjustment screws with a T10 Torx tool. Make small adjustments as needed.
  4. Confirm zero
Fire another group and repeat adjustments until point of impact matches point of aim.

New COA® / A-CUT® pistol partnerships coming soon

Aimpoint is expanding the availability of COA pistol optics and the A-CUT mounting interface through licensed OEM partnerships. Agreements have been signed with original equipment manufacturers, representing many of the world’s leading pistol brands, covering over eighty percent of the U.S. pistol market, and that is just the beginning. Throughout 2026, additional factory-integrated pistol and COA packages will be introduced.
