TIP TUESDAY: WAR HOGG SELF EVAL DRILL
War Hogg Self Eval drill can help you improve your shooting skills and elevate your performance on the range.
Method: Engage two targets while conducting speed magazine changes using either your rifle or carbine.
-Shooting two magazines of six rounds each.
If using a pistol, shoot from five yards, while with a rifle, shoot from seven yards.
Targets should be secured in opposite corners of the shooting platform.
The drill requires engaging target 1 with three shots, then engaging target 2 with three shots conducting a speedy magazine change, and then repeat 3 shoots in target 1 and 3 shoots in target 2.
Applying Real-World Training Principles:
To maximize the effectiveness of your training, it's important to treat the flat range like a real-life scenario. Prioritize engaging the closer or larger target first, transition to the smaller target, perform a quick magazine change, and then re-engage the large target and then smaller target again. This sequence replicates decision-making and engagement dynamics you may encounter in real-world situations.
